JCU Singapore เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำด้านการวิจัยเขตร้อนของประเทศออสเตรเลีย และได้รับการจัดอันดับเป็น Top 4 ของโลก ด้านการศึกษาและการวิจัย (จัดอันดับโดย The Academic Ranking of World Universities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University) นอกจากนี้ ยังเป็น 1 ใน 15 มหาวิทยาลัยของออสเตรเลียที่ติดอันดับ ใน The world ranking โดยมี 1 แคมปัสในสิงคโปร์ และ 2 แคมปัสในออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ใน Townsville และ Cairns

สำหรับแคมปัส JCU ในสิงคโปร์นั้น นับว่าเป็นแคมปัสแห่งแรกของ James Cook University ที่อยู่นอกประเทศออสเตรเลีย แคมปัสแห่งนี้ ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2546 โดยนักศึกษาของ James Cook University ในประเทศสิงคโปร์ จะได้รับประกาศนียบัตรฉบับ “จริง” จากออสเตรเลีย โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องไปเรียนไกลถึงประเทศออสเตรเลีย เพราะหลักสูตรที่เปิดสอนนั้น เป็นหลักสูตรเดียวกันกับที่ชาวออสเตรเลียเรียน แต่ปรับเปลี่ยนให้เข้ากับชาวเอเชีย เราขอรับประกันว่าเป็นหลักสูตรที่มีคุณภาพสูงและสอดคล้องกับการรักษาความสัมพันธ์ในท้องถิ่นด้วย
